I am a current Senior at Ironwood Ridge High School, in Oro Valley, Arizona and I'm currently in the 3D Fine Arts program which primarily involves ceramics. Along with the Fine Arts program, I am also involved in clubs and sports, some of which include Swim and Dive, NHS, and Club Green, an environmental sustainability club. I am the girl's team captain in Swim and Dive, and am the Vice President of Club Green.
Although I am currently focusing on ceramics, I have always loved creating and making art, starting at the ripe age of two years old in my mom's bible. I work with 2D, fiber, foam, cardboard, everything really. But for this project I really wanted to challenge my knowledge and skillset in ceramics.
The fine arts in the Amphitheater School District have definitely made me more creative in all of my classes, and have made me think about the different ways to express myself. If I could do it again, I would definitely take advantage of the freedom given to students, and use it do things that would express myself.
If I could do this project again, I would take the time to really plan out how I was going to complete the project. I would assess my skills, and give myself the time to practice and critique how the project was going versus how I wanted it to be presented. I think it definitely would've been helpful to have more time to plan and prepare, but that was out of my control regarding the deadline. Next time I definitely think it could be done in a more cohesive manner, and hopefully have all of the elements completed as planned.
